No one should go hungry on Thanksgiving, so every year Unity of Boulder invites the community to come celebrate and give thanks on this special day.
Some folks come for the delicious food – with healthy, gluten-free, and vegetarian options to choose from. Some come because they have no home or extended family to go to – and here they get an opportunity to get a good hot meal, serve others, and be a part of a spiritual community.
You can help us make sure that everyone gets plenty to eat this year by donating time and/or money to the cause. We need to raise $500 to make it great! Please donate to the Thanksgiving Fund here.
And we’re looking for people who can help with set-up, cooking and cleaning.
-Anytime Wednesday (November 22) between 2:00 – 6:00 P.M. to set up and decorate tables, roll silverware, etc.
-Thursday (November 23):
- Morning Shift (Cook Crew): 9:00 A.M. – 12:30 P.M.
- Afternoon Shift (Clean-up Crew): 2:30 – 4:00 P.M.
We need 5 + people to help with decorations and setting up the tables & wrapping silverware for the Thanksgiving Dinner in the afternoon Wednesday. If you have Thanksgiving decorations you would like to contribute to the decor, bring those with you!
FOOD DONATIONS NEEDED
- 4 Turkeys (25+ lbs)
- 30 lbs of russet potatoes
- 15 lbs red potatoes
- 12 lbs butter
- 2 gallons milk
- 12 gallons Iced Tea
- 12 gallons Water
- 12 mixed variety sodas
- Mini Salt & Pepper Shakers
- Ice 4-5 bags
- Pumpkin Pies
- 15 cans of cranberry sauce
- 5-7 bags/flats of Rolls, gluten free & regular
- 10 cans spray whipping cream
People can bring snack/appetizer items too: Brie, Hummus, crackers, chips, olives, mixed nuts, salad…sides dishes & desserts…if they are planning to attend the Potluck.
