Unity of Boulder Spiritual Community

Oh Holy Night

Dear Friends:

The Christmas story tells of those who traveled far to witness the birth of Christ. Yet, they were but a few by comparison to the multitudes who crowded into the City of Bethlehem that night. A small band indeed – wise men and shepherds realized the significance of this mystical birth. They sought the Prince of Peace. They followed the starlight that guided them to a cattle shed, beyond the traffic and noise of the city.

Meanwhile, the masses hustled and bustled, and bought and sold, and mauled and brawled with each other until the night was spent. Of course, there was no room at the inn.

As we approach the time chosen to celebrate this miracle birth, let us recognize how blessed we are to know the Christ is not lost in history, to know the city never changes, to know there remains the starlight which leads beyond the city, and the way beyond the city to a quiet place – meditation. Then let us recognize the true significance of Christmas, which is the birth of Christ in “us”. We are summoned to the company of the Prince of Peace, for His day awaits our arrival.

ON behalf of our Unity Staff and Board of Directors, I wish you the peace and joy of Christmas.

With Love,
Jack and Norma
