Join us in discussion about the book “Return To Joy” by local Boulder area authors, Andrew Harvey & Carolyn Baker over 4 weeks beginning, Tuesday, Sept 22nd. The Women’s Book Group gathers on Tuesdays from 6:30-8pm in the Bookstore Conference Rm. Copies of the Book will be available in our Unity Bookstore.
Unity Book Study Groups are a great way to take a deep dive into your spiritual growth and open your heart to new ways of approaching your spirituality, while participating in a guided journey through some of the most insight filled mystical and metaphysical books by today’s leading authors on the path of enlightenment.
Deb King has a rich background in facilitating many book groups and loves to bring her own open hearted approach to sharing everyone’s perspective in her discussions. Each week, she will prompt you with questions about that week’s reading and encourage you to share your stories that have been inspired by your own personal journey on the spiritual path of awakening.
There is a syllabus posted below and an assigned reading for the first group meeting so be sure to register soon !
SYNOPSIS
In ‘Return To Joy’, the book treats joy as the core purpose of human life, and argues that losing joy drives modern global crisis and despair. The book uses ancient mystical wisdom to help readers identify the enemies of joy and celebrate its presence in our daily lives.
ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Andrew Harvey is the founder & director of the Institute of Sacred Activism.
Carolyn Baker is an established author of many books addressing the eco-crises of our turbulent times and resides in Boulder, CO. She is former psychotherapist and professor of psychology & history and a consultant for people who want to live more resiliently in the present time.
