MEDITATION AT UNITY
At Unity we advocate developing a strong and regular spiritual practice to balance your spiritual life with everyday working commitments during the week. One of these practices is meditation. Meditation is a helpful skill and enduring way to align and balance yourself in preparation for the demands & stresses of daily commitments. It can also help in your efforts to be present for your family. This practical spiritual tool can help alieviate anxiety and bring peace, self knowledge and acceptance to you in all stages of your life.
Every Sunday at Unity of Boulder we offer a 9am MST Meditation & Satsang–a group contemplative meditation featuring Live Tibetan Singing Bowls performed by Norma Groverland and a spiritual message and guided meditation given by Jack Groverland.
This Week Jack’s Spiritual Message is Titled: “Healing Our Flawed Thinking”
In the Gospel of John 17:15-17, the clarity of living the Truth in the world is revealed. Excerpt from the Master’s final prayer Paraphrased:
“Creator, Those who choose to be my disciples are not of the beliefs and thinking of this world, even as I am not of the beliefs and thinking of this world. Sanctify them in the Truth; Thy indwelling Words inspire the Awareness of Thy Divine Origin as being the Origin of all. As thou did send me into the world to relate the eternal Truth of our Divine Origin, so I also send my disciples into the world to relate the Truth of our Divine Origin.”
Master Eckhart Tolle from his book Stillness Speaks pg. 109-110, reveals the flaw in Unenlightened human thinking:
“Every human being has been conditioned to think and behave in certain ways — conditioned genetically as well as by their childhood experiences and their cultural environment. That is not who they are, but that is who they appear to be. When you pronounce judgment upon someone, you confuse those conditioned mind patterns with who they are.
You give them a conceptual identity, and that false identity becomes a prison not only for the other person but also for yourself. To let go of judgment does not mean that you don’t see what they do. It means that you recognize their behavior as a form of conditioning, and you see it and accept it as that. You don’t construct an identity out of it for that person. That liberates you as well as the other person.”
This Sunday at Unity of Boulder’s 9AM MST Meditation & Satsang, we will study the daily practice that heals the mind of the flawed thinking and beliefs the world shares.
We hope you will join us for this universal multifaith experiential spiritual event and to discover, nurture and grow an awareness of yourself and your spiritual presence in the world.
We invite you to join us soon in person or on live stream at unityofboulder.com Sundays at 9AM MST, and give our Universal approach to Spiritual Life a try! There is no fee to attend or watch our live stream. Gratitude in the form of a donation is appreciated and welcomed. Thank you!
