A Reflection for Those Considering Joining the Visioning Meeting:
If you feel inspired to share a vision, dream, or idea for the future of our spiritual community, we warmly invite you to participate in this special Visioning Meeting.
There will be space for 30 participants to share. Each person will have up to two minutes to present their idea using a microphone.
To preserve the ideas that are shared and to make them available to those who are unable to attend, the session will be video and audio recorded.
Beginning at 12:15 p.m., those who wish to speak may line up at the front of the sanctuary. Heather will collect your name and contact information, and speakers will be invited to the microphone in the order they join the line.
We look forward to hearing the inspiration Spirit has placed on your heart as we dream together about the future of our community.
Community is one of our deepest human longings. It offers connection, belonging, support, inspiration, and opportunities for growth. At the same time, authentic community invites us to stretch beyond our comfort zones and discover new ways of relating to ourselves and one another.
As you consider joining the Vision Meeting, we invite you to spend a few moments reflecting on the questions below. There are no right or wrong answers only opportunities for greater self-awareness and intentional participation.
These questions are an invitation to reflect with yourself and Spirit. Your responses are for you alone and will not be handed in.
“Preparing for Sacred Conversation and Spiritual Growth”
Reflection Questions
- What am I longing for from this community?
- What would help me feel welcomed, connected, and that I truly belong?
- Do the Mission, Vision, and values of this community resonate with my core beliefs and spiritual aspirations?
- Am I open to perspectives that may differ from my own, or do I need everyone to think, believe, and practice life in ways that closely match my own?
- Am I willing to bring my best, prayed-up self to this community and remain open to the wisdom of the collective? Can I embrace experiences, perspectives, people, and conversations that may challenge my assumptions, trusting that they may offer opportunities for my own growth and for the deepening of our shared spiritual journey?
- Am I willing to contribute my presence, gifts, time, energy, and heart—not only receive from the community, but also help nurture it?
- How do I respond when conflict, disagreement, or disappointment arises? Am I willing to approach challenges with compassion, curiosity, and a desire for understanding?
- Am I willing to practice patience as relationships develop and trust is built over time?
- Can I honor the unique journeys of others, even when their experiences, beliefs, or expressions differ from my own?
- What am I willing to commit to in order to help create the kind of community I long for?
- How might this community invite me to grow beyond my comfort zone and into a deeper expression of my spiritual life?
- If I were fully living my highest values within this community, what would that look like?
A Final Thought
Community is not something we find, it is something we create together.
As you reflect on these questions, consider not only what you hope to receive, but also what you feel called to contribute. Every person who joins a community brings unique gifts, experiences, and perspectives. When we show up with open hearts, willing spirits, and a commitment to mutual growth, we help create a space where everyone can flourish.
Thank you for considering being part of this shared journey.
