Unity of Boulder’s Music Department Presents…
A Full Scale Musical Production of
‘THE LIGHT SHE CARRIED‘
Mary, the Divine Feminine & the Birth of the Christ Within
written by Syntysche Groverland
& Directed by Janis Kelly
‘The Light She Carried’ is a sacred reimagining of the Christmas story through the heart of Mary, the mystery of the Divine Feminine, and the timeless birth of the Christ within us all. Before there was a manger, a star, or angels singing in the night, there was a young woman listening. There was a whisper from Spirit, a trembling question, and finally, a courageous yes. Through music, story, candlelight, movement, and prayer, we journey with Mary as she carries a Light she cannot yet fully understand, a Divine promise nurtured in the hidden sanctuary of her heart before it could ever become visible to the world.
And yet, ‘The Light She Carried‘ is not only Mary’s story. It is ours. For somewhere within every human heart is a holy place where Love is still asking to be born, where intuition whispers, faith awakens, and something greater than we have imagined waits for our willingness to bring it forth. Tonight, as women gather around Mary, Joseph walks faithfully beside her, the star rises over Bethlehem, and the darkness gives way to light, we are invited to remember the deeper mystery of Christmas: the Light that was born through Mary still seeks expression through us. The manger is the human heart, and the world is still waiting for our yes.
Please join us for a musical celebration on Christmas Eve to honor the role of women in the birth of Christ Jesus.
