Silencing the Rampant Voices in Your Head

Silencing the Rampant Voices in Your Head

Within each of us is an inner dialogue that is going on from the second we wake up until our head hits the pillow at night. As a result, most people are not tuning into the higher mind. They are not tuning into that voice of wisdom that guides and directs us in a holy way. Instead they are focusing on the ego voice that is incessantly translating and dictating our observations of anything and everything through the lens of fear and doubt.

We talk a lot in Unity about silencing this mind chatter, or the voice that won’t stop giving fearful, paranoid meaning to everything. If we would take notice from our deeper, more aware selves and observe the nonsense that this voice is saying, we would find out that this monkey chatter is bringing forth the very discomfort and discontentedness it aims to protect us from.

Proverbs 2:1-5 – “My children, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the love of God and find the knowledge of God.
