Unity of Boulder is now offering a Restorative Yoga Class on Wednesdays before our Mid-Week Healing Meditation Service. What a great way to relax and get ready for meditation!
The following is a list of items that yogis and yoginis need to bring:
- Yoga mat
- Water bottle
- Block and/or strap (if needed)
- Comfortable clothes
- Empty stomach
- Open mind
The following is a list of items that should be left at the door:
- Worries (give yourself permission to fully be in the moment and leave your troubles behind)
- Judgement of self (you are never too old & it is never too late to start yoga)
Every session will begin with setting an intention.
Collectively as a class, we will all move through the same asanas (postures). Individually, the experience will be different for everyone since strength and flexibility will vary. Therefore variations of an asana will always be provided.
There will be focus on pranayama (breath) as we move through our asanas as well as learning different breathing techniques.
Every session will close with savasana (resting pose) along with a guided meditation, aromatherapy and a blessing.
The practice of yoga is more than stretching, it is about cleansing, strengthening and toning the body inside and out thus becoming more flexible in body, mind and spirit.
