Native American Gift Drive:

Once again it is that time of year when we remember to be grateful for all our Blessings and make an extra effort to be of service to those less fortunate than we.  Our winter project of collecting provisions, clothing and gifts for the Lakota Indians at Wounded Knee on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota is once again under way.
 Here is what we need:
-- truck driver experienced in challenging weather (ice, snow and high winds)
-- BOXES, lots of packing/shipping boxes. The kind that professional movers use, or are purchased at truck rental places. Some places will donate if you ask. We need small, medium, large and X-large sizes. Also from grocery stores the large boxes that toilet paper, paper towels or cereal boxes come in. Sports Authority donated many boxes last year. The boxes need to have flaps that are totally closable. Grocery stores will try to save them for you if you speak with a manager.
--Wrapping Paper, scotch tape, packing tape, black and red magic markers for labeling boxes
-- no-perishable food items
--Gift-wrapped presents labeled with gender, size, and item description. Ex. men's slippers size 9, teen girl jewelry, baby blanket boy.
-- General donation clothing and baby furniture such as cribs, infant carriers, and car seats.  All items need to be in excellent to very good condition.
We thank you in advance for making this another successful year.
